Background

The Yarrow Valley site covers an impressive 700 acres in the heart of the beautiful Lancashire countryside.

CCNW has been appointed carry out the footpath works in six phases each located within the Yarrow Valley Country Park. CCNW’s specialist conservation team has extensive experience with all aspects of footpath works and habitat improvement projects.

CCNW Solution

CCNW’s project teams carried out the scraping off on the existing network of footpaths and the resurfacing works at Copper Works Wood phases 1 & 2. The two paths in total where 690m of footpath enhancement works.

CCNW’s professional conservation team has extensive experience with all aspects of footpath improvement and construction. The project also required CCNW to undertake the construction of new surfaced paths and carry out drainage improvement works along existing desired lines within various locations of the Yarrow Valley Country Park.

These included woodland sites at Wallets Wood to Common Bank. Phase 3, Kingsley Wood. Phases 4 & 5 and Duxbury Woods Phase 6. In total the creation of 1,245m of newly created footpaths within the Country Park using an extendable drag box and a recycled aggregate approved product.   

Owing to each phase being located within a different area of the country park all phases were required to be planned and cost individually.
