Three Sisters - Wetland Habitat Work. CCNW ltd are proud to have sponcered and created a new wetland at the Three Sisters Recreation area in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
Working with The Wildlife Trust and Wigan Cultural and Leisure Trust, this three week project consisted of
excavating a former BMX track of approximatly 60m x 60m with a 20tonne excavator.
In total around 7000m3 of material was excavated and used as a bund around the site.
Four ponds of varied depth and sizes were created to specifications which are best suited to dragonfly and other wildlife.
